TRUSTEES

Lyn Lockhart (former White Sox Manager and NZ Board Member)

As a passionate softball supporter I have been involved in the sport for more than 25 years as a parent of a New Zealand player, a manager of Canterbury Red Hawks, New Zealand Junior White Sox and the New Zealand White Sox over this time. As well as that I have been a Board member of Softball New Zealand and also President for our sport. From these roles I know how fantastic our sport is and how, for some players, it is difficult to reach their full potential because of financial constraints. As President I was involved in getting the Trust started and am thrilled to be involved in its implementation.

In terms of being a Trustee I bring over 40 years of senior corporate management experience and knowledge of Trust operations. I look forward to being part of a team to see Lyndsey’s, and I hope many more generous donations, assist our young players reach their potential and our sport continue to provide wonderful and rewarding opportunities for our young women.

Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu

Cheryl Kemp  (former White Sox player and coach)

I have been blessed to be part of the softball community for over 55 years.  I have played for and coached the White Sox, am a WBSC and New Zealand Hall of Fame inductee and an immediate past Chief Executive of Canterbury Softball.  As importantly, a lifelong friend of Lyndsey Leask.

Lyndsey had a vision, to help those enjoy the merits of playing the wonderful team sport of softball providing an opportunity to excel no matter what challenges there may be.  It is a vision that is shared by many.  The generosity of past players and staff is securing the future for those to transition from junior to senior grades and reach their full potential as athletes and as people.

I trust that with a career background in banking and communications coupled with over 30 years in sports administration, that I can add value to the Team at the Foundation and bring Lyndsey’s dream to fruition.

He aha te mea nui o te ao?  He tangata, he tangata he tangata.

Hoani Lambert  (Chair Softball NZ)

I love softball and have been involved with the sport all my life.  It has given me friends, family, travel and employment opportunities.  I owe so much to this wonderful game.

It is an honour to be an establishment trustee.  I have been involved in a number of organisations providing governance and leadership support across the sports, creative arts, social justice and health sectors.  I am currently the Chair of Softball New Zealand.

My professional career has mainly been in government, and I am currently a Deputy Chief Executive at the Department of Internal Affairs.  I have also worked as a diplomat, social marketer and sponsorship manager.

Finally, I have loved working alongside such a talented and committed group of trustees.  We all look forward to supporting your women to realise their potential through our amazing game.

Rebecca Bromhead (former White Sox Player)

Softball is one of the great loves of my life, and has given me much more than I can ever give back.  I represented the New Zealand White Sox for over a decade, attending three World Series Tournaments, and multiple other international tours.  I represented Auckland for 20 years, and continue to play club ball for Waitakere Bears.  I am involved in coaching junior grade girls, and get a lot of joy out of helping young women at the start of their softball journey.

I know the opportunities this sport can bring, but I also know the cost it can bear.  I am absolutely honoured to be a trustee of a foundation that will nurture and support gifted female softball players, and help make that cost a little lighter.

I look forward to working alongside the other wonderful trustees to fulfill Lyndsey's vision and solidify her legacy to our sport.
